European Mobility Week 2026

Mark your diaries: 22 September. These are the day set for European Mobility Week 2026 at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). Car-Free Day takes place on Tuesday. On the Alcoy, Gandia and Vera campuses, travelling to university on foot, by bike, scooter, or public transport will earn you a prize. From 7.45 am until 9 am, or whilst stocks last, you can collect your gift.

On the same day, EMT València will join the programme organised by the UPV by running various activities and promoting the EMT Jove pass and other products at an information point to be set up on the Vera campus.

Strategic Plan for Sustainable Mobility

And it's not just about one week a year. The UPV is committed to environmental responsibility every day of the year, as you can see by consulting its Strategic Plan for Sustainable Mobility. The aim of this plan is to raise awareness amongst the university community about the impact of daily commutes and to promote the most sustainable alternatives offered by the university.

One of the initiatives to achieve this was the launch, in March, of Policar UPV. It is a car-sharing app for the polytechnic community. Reduced emissions, savings on travel costs, and the financial benefit of the energy voucher linked to shared journeys are the main advantages of Policar. Furthermore, this academic year, the Universitat Politècnica de València is introducing new charging points for electric vehicles. You can find all the information in this news article. To use them, you only need the Umbrella emobility app (available on the Play Store and App Store).

As part of the development of the Strategic Plan for Sustainable Mobility, improvements have been made to transport links between the Valencia metropolitan area and the Vera campus via the AMTV's route 136; bicycle parking facilities have been expanded; and new self-repair tools have been installed.
