Excellence Engineers Education and Training Program
La Universitat Politècnica de València launches a new master's degree program: 2 years, 2 universities, 2 degrees and a dual qualification
[ 23/04/2026 ]
La Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) is launching a new program for master’s students: the Excellence Engineers Education and Training Program (EEETP). This learning model combines classroom-based education with the requirement to earn a certain number of credits through placements in companies –a system known as the dual degree– with the added feature that, in this case, the placements will take place in Chinese multinational companies. The EEETP is unique in that it takes place at two different universities: two semesters are spent at the UPV (Spain) and another two at Beihang University (China), meaning that, after two years, students receive two separate degrees with a dual degree.
MUTSRC: UPV’s new dual international master’s degree
The first program to be offered in this format will be the Master?s Degree in Telecommunication Technologies, Systems and Networks, which will offer 20 places on this dual-international pathway in the 2026–2027 academic year. Of these, around ten will be reserved for Chinese students selected by Beihang University, and a further 10 students will be drawn from the UPV student body.
In the first year, students will complete 36 ECTS credits in modules taught in English (Mobile Communications Systems, IoT Platforms, Satellite Communications, Photonics, Signal Processing, Web Applications, Sensors, Drone Management…) and, in the second year, they will travel to the Hangzhou Campus in China to undertake work placements organised by Beihang University at leading multinational companies in the sector. The final Master’s thesis may be defended either in person or online.
In the words of the program director, José Ignacio Herranz, researcher at the Telecommunication and Multimedia Applications University Research Institute, “for the first time, students will have the opportunity to do it all at once, without having to compromise on anything. They will gain an excellent international profile and acquire top-level professional experience in successful technology companies. And all this in partnership with Beihang University, which the Shanghai Ranking places among the world’s top 35 in both Telecommunications and Computer Science”.
How to pre-register for this new program
Students interested in the Excellence Engineers Education and Training Program (EEETP) must complete the pre-registration for the Master’s Degree in Telecommunication Technologies, Systems and Networks, which is currently open for Phase 1 until 30 April, and must hold a B2-level English qualification. Once admitted, they must express their interest in participating in the EEETP. The degree program’s academic committee will select the 10 students with the strongest CVs and academic merits.
