The UPV will provide a bus from the Vera campus, which will leave from Avenida de los Naranjos (close to the bull) at 16:15 hours and will return at the end of the event (21:30 hours, estimated time). In order to organise the transport properly, confirmation is required by email to vdialogo@upv.es.

A short film of a shared history

Nearly 16,000 students have been able to enjoy university life at the UPV Gandia campus, a crucial stage of shared experiences, which will be the focus of the animated short film that will be presented at the event.

It is a short film directed by Abdón Alcañiz, a graduate of the Gandia campus and renowned art director with international successes such as La Casa de Papel. The audiovisual will be presented by Saray Cerro, a former student, outstanding scriptwriter, and presenter who has voice-acted the work.

Key people

The celebration ceremony will pay tribute to key figures in the birth of the university campus, such as Justo Nieto, former Rector of the UPV; Pepa Frau, former mayoress of Gandia; and José Pedro García Canet, who played a key role in the citizens' movement that supported the creation of the centre.

In addition, the Rector of the Universitat Politècnica de València, José E. Capilla, will present awards to relevant personalities, such as Diana Morant, Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities; Esther Gómez, Regional Secretary for Universities and José Manuel Prieto, Mayor of Gandia.

Eleven members of the academic staff and administrative and service staff who saw the campus's birth and continue to work on it will also play a leading role in the event.

The Rector José E. Capilla will close the event with the closing speech.

A dynamic campus

The establishment of the Universitat Politècnica de València in Gandia has contributed to the social, scientific, economic and cultural progress of Gandia and its surroundings, thanks to the teaching, research and university extension activities it has developed, focused on the fields of Information and Communications Technologies, environmental protection, audiovisual communication and tourism.

The university currently offers five bachelor's degrees, three double degrees, six master's degrees, senior training and a PhD programme. It has a research institute, the IGIC, and a joint research unit, together with the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO), as well as research staff from other prestigious centres.

The campus faces the immediate future with new projects, such as the launch of a new degree programme and the promotion of the UPV summer courses at the Gandia campus.
