Entry requirements

To access official university master’s programmes, applicants must hold one of the following degrees:

  • Official Spanish university degree of Graduate or equivalent, or another official University Master’s degree, or degrees at the same level as the Spanish Bachelor’s or Master’s degree issued by universities and higher education institutions in a country of the EHEA that in that country give access to Master’s studies.
  • Degrees from educational systems that are not part of the EHEA, which are equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, without the need for official recognition of the degree, but subject to verification by the university of the level of training they entail, provided that in the country where the degree was issued it gives access to postgraduate university studies. Under no circumstances will access via this route imply the official recognition of the previous degree held by the applicant, nor its recognition for any purpose other than undertaking Master’s studies.
  • A foreign university degree officially recognised by the Ministry of Education as equivalent to an official Spanish university degree, or a foreign higher education degree declared equivalent by the Ministry of Education to an official university qualification or academic level that allows access to Master’s programmes.
  • An official university degree corresponding to the pre-EHEA structure in accordance with the provisions of the first additional provision of Royal Decree 822/2021: [Licentiate, Engineer or Technical Engineer degree, with or without bridging courses.]
  • By way of exception, students on a Spanish or EHEA Bachelor’s degree who still have their Bachelor’s Thesis pending and a maximum of 9 ECTS credits outstanding may be conditionally admitted, provided that the total (Bachelor’s Thesis and subjects) does not exceed 30 ECTS credits under any circumstances. Students who still have to provide proof of the foreign language competence required for the award of a Bachelor’s degree may also be admitted.

Admission in the case of students with disabilities

For students with specific educational needs arising from a disability, appropriate support and advisory services will be established to assess the need for curricular adaptations, alternative pathways or studies, through the support of the UPV CEDAT Foundation.

The UPV CEDAT Foundation provides information and advice to members of the university community with disabilities, as well as accompaniment and support in the classroom. In addition, it provides technical study aids to those students who require them due to their special educational needs. It also promotes and manages training and employment initiatives for this group, both inside and outside the UPV campuses, and offers various services through its Special Employment Centre.

Likewise, the foundation carries out projects for the removal of architectural and urban barriers, comprehensive accessibility plans, accessibility audits, project reviews, and advice and design of ideal accessibility models.

Assessment of academic record.

In the case of academic records graded on scales different from those indicated in RD 1125/2003, the applicant will be required to provide a statement of equivalence of average grades for university studies completed at foreign institutions, obtained from the Ministry responsible for Universities. Applicants who do not provide this document will be assigned a 5 as their average entry grade.

The assessment of the academic record will be expressed as a score on a scale from 0 to 10 and will be obtained from the average grade of the Bachelor’s degree with which the applicant accesses the Master’s. For the purposes of calculating this average grade, recognised credits without a grade are not counted.

The average grade of the access Bachelor’s degree for each student accounts for 50% of the final assessment.

B

Correspondence between the competences of the access degree and those of the Reference Degree.

The correspondence between the competences of the access degree and those of the Bachelor’s Degree in Digital and Multimedia Technology (Reference Degree) will be assessed. The assessment will be expressed as a score on a scale from 0 to 10:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Digital and Multimedia Technology (GTDM): 10
  • Bachelor’s degrees in the branch of Telecommunication Engineering with a specialisation in Sound and Image or equivalent: 9
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia Engineering and equivalent degrees: 8.

  • Bachelor’s degrees in the branch of Telecommunication Engineering with specialisations other than Sound and Image or equivalent: 6.
  • Bachelor’s degrees in the branch of Computer Engineering: 5.

This section accounts for 40% of the final assessment.

C

Curriculum vitae.

The applicant’s curriculum vitae will be assessed, especially those aspects related to work experience / internships in companies or institutions in the field of the Master’s, participation in relevant projects, continuing education and knowledge of foreign languages. The assessment criteria will be proposed by the Master’s Academic Committee. The assessment will be expressed as a score on a scale from 0 to 10. This section accounts for 10% of the final assessment.

Applicants will be admitted in strict order of ranking, up to the number of places offered.

After the admission of graduates, and if there are still places available, students who, without having completed their Bachelor’s degree, come from any of the listed access degrees or equivalent may be admitted, provided that they still have their Bachelor’s Thesis and up to 9 ECTS credits pending, and that under no circumstances may the total (Bachelor’s Thesis and subjects) exceed 30 ECTS credits. In no case may these include results necessary for the normal progress of the master’s studies.

If there are withdrawals, and as long as there are applications on the waiting list, vacancies will be filled until all places offered are taken or the waiting list is exhausted, following the previously established order of ranking.
