Access requirements
The Academic Committee of the Degree is the competent body to establish the evaluation criteria to be applied in order to establish the order of priority in the allocation of places, according to the regulations of Pre-registration and Admission to university master’s degree studies at the UPV and following the guidelines issued by the Vice-Rectorate responsible for student affairs.
Recommended entry profile for the degree:
No reference degree has been defined for admission to the Master’s Degree in Industrial Safety because there is no specific degree in industrial safety at the national level. The related degrees for access are those related to engineering of the industrial branch. These include students from the following degrees from Spanish or foreign universities:
- University Degrees in Engineering: Industrial Technologies, Materials, Energy, Chemistry, Mechanics, Electricity, Electronics and Automation.
- Graduates in Engineering (Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, Materials, Electrical and Electronic) according to the previous University Academic Regulations.
- For degrees in the following fields of engineering knowledge (listed in Annex I of Royal Decree 822/2021): Electrical engineering, electronic engineering and telecommunications engineering. Industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, automatic engineering, industrial organization engineering and navigation engineering. Chemical engineering, materials engineering and environmental engineering.
For admission to this master’s degree, students who meet the general admission requirements and the specific admission requirements are not required to take additional courses.
Language Requirement:
Spanish will be used as the vehicular language for the training process of the degree. Foreign students coming from countries where Spanish is not an official language must accredit their level of Spanish through official certificates accrediting the degree of competence and mastery of the Spanish language. Specifically, it will be necessary to accredit the B2 level of Spanish through any of the official certificates for the accreditation of Spanish recognized by the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) or by the Association of Language Centers in Higher Education (ACLES). As an alternative to the accreditation, a personal interview may be carried out by the Master’s faculty to verify the linguistic competence of Spanish at level B2 of the person interested in studying the Master’s program who comes from a foreign country where Spanish is not an official language.
Quotas for seat reservations:
The UPV will reserve at least 5 percent of the places offered in official university Master’s degrees for students who have a recognized degree of disability equal to or greater than 33 percent, as well as for students with permanent educational support needs associated with personal circumstances of disability, who in their previous studies have required resources and support for their full educational inclusion.
In the latter case, the UPV’s Service for Students with Disabilities (CEDAT Foundation) will be responsible for assessing each case in order to issue the relevant report on the appropriateness of formalizing pre-registration for a UPV master’s degree for this quota of reserved places. For this purpose, the interested party will provide the above mentioned Service with the information and supporting documentation required for the assessment of his/her application.
Places within each quota are ordered and allocated on the basis of the admission grade.
Admission for disabled students
For students with specific educational needs arising from a disability, appropriate support and counseling services will be established to assess the needs of curricular adaptations, itineraries or alternative studies, through the support of the CEDAT Foundation of the UPV.
The CEDAT Foundation of the UPV offers information and advice to members of the university community with disabilities, as well as accompaniment and support in the classroom. In addition, it provides technical aids for study to those members of the student body who, due to their special educational needs, require it. It also promotes and manages training and employment actions for this group, both inside and outside the UPV campuses, and offers different services from its Special Employment Center.
The foundation also carries out projects for the elimination of architectural and urban barriers, comprehensive accessibility plans, accessibility audits, project reviews, advice and design of ideal accessibility models.
