Description of the title
Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR constitutes an approach in the management and administration of organizations that integrates their economic, social and environmental responsibilities. These responsibilities are being assumed from the conviction of contributing to a fairer and more sustainable society, as well as in response to an increasingly growing demand from society.
In a global context of great uncertainties with a strong increase in social inequalities, together with the declaration of climate emergency due to global warming, also with serious social impacts, companies and organizations cannot remain on the sidelines but must contribute and participate in the search for solutions. Hence, the transition in recent years towards so-called Sustainability, not only environmental, but also social and economic.

Facilities and Laboratories
As this is a virtual Master’s, teaching will be delivered through PoliformaT, a virtual learning platform used by the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) to provide an online teaching and assessment environment. It allows professors to create and manage course content, assignments, exams and communicate with students, for the development of quality virtual teaching. It integrates with the Office365 and Teams ecosystem, which facilitates collaboration and communication among UPV users. Poliformat is hosted on the UPV’s Information and Communications Systems Area (ASIC) infrastructure and consists of a cluster of load-balanced virtual machines in a high availability environment.
It is sized to serve the entire university community. The usual load is 6,000 simultaneous sessions, with peaks of 10,000 sessions. It has been sized to support 10 times these maximum peaks. It has vertical scaling capacity to offer additional resources if needed. The systems are protected by UPV Firewalls that monitor and protect them against improper use.
The databases are hosted on systems that are also highly available, with data replication and periodic backups. Access uses secure protocols and authentication integrated with UPV based on Single Sign On.
As described above, all students have access to library services through which they can access a wide range of resources and online library.
Master’s Thesis
The Master’s Thesis represents the final stage of student training. It is a multidisciplinary work related to the subjects studied in the degree program. In the preamble of the UPV framework regulations, which govern all phases of the process, the TFM is defined as «an autonomous student activity with the support of one or more tutors where the final result must always be an individual student work, defended before a panel». It is, therefore, an original exercise to be carried out individually and presented and defended before a university panel.
The main objective of a master’s thesis is to demonstrate the competencies acquired during the master’s training. Given its integrative nature, the theoretical and practical training acquired by the student will conclude with the preparation and defense of this final degree work, which will contribute to completing the development of all the competencies established for the degree.
On the Faculty of Business Administration and Management website, more detailed information can be found about the process and each of the procedures to be carried out (Framework Regulations for Bachelor’s and Master’s Final Projects; Defense Calendars; Basic Procedure Questions; Forms; etc.)
