Installations and laboratories
The Master’s Degree in Occupational Risk Prevention at the Polytechnic University of Valencia is taught in an environment with advanced state-of-the-art facilities and laboratories, which allows students to carry out practices and experiments in conditions that simulate real work scenarios.
Among the outstanding facilities are the laboratories of the departments involved in the master’s degree, such as Microbiology, Physics, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of the UPV, where students can carry out research and practical work related to risk prevention and occupational health.
Likewise, students have access to computer facilities, such as the laboratories of the Department of Construction Engineering and the computer rooms of the MTS in Civil Engineering, where they can use specialized software and tools for risk analysis and management.
These facilities, together with the support of our teaching teams, provide students with a highly practical environment that facilitates their learning and preparation to face the challenges of occupational risk prevention in various sectors.
Treballe Fi de Màster
The Master’s Thesis (TFM) consists of the realization, presentation and defense of an individual work, which must be related to Occupational Risk Prevention and health in the workplace. This work must synthesize and integrate the knowledge acquired throughout the program, allowing students to demonstrate their ability to apply the theoretical and practical contents of the master’s degree in a real context.
The TFM may have a professional and/or research focus, addressing topics related to the different areas of occupational risk prevention. The student will be supervised by an academic tutor, who will be a professor of the master’s degree. If the work requires it, the student may also have one or more academic co-tutors or an experimental director. In cases where the work is carried out in institutions outside the UPV, a non-teaching co-tutor, an external professional with expertise in the area of the work, may be included.
Once the work is finished, the student will have to defend it publicly in front of a university tribunal, according to the current regulations of the Universitat Politècnica de València. In the defense, the student will present a summary of the most relevant aspects of the TFM and will answer the questions and comments of the examining board. After the defense, the examining board will evaluate the work and give a grade.
This process allows students to consolidate their knowledge and skills in occupational risk prevention, while at the same time providing them with the opportunity to contribute with an innovative and quality proposal in the professional field.
