Access requirements
The mandatory requirements to be provided are the following:
- Official Spanish or European Union university degree.
- Official University Degree from non-EU countries, prior Rectoral Resolution of Verification of Equivalence. The issuance of this resolution requires that, in addition to providing the degree, the applicant must also provide a letter from his/her home university certifying that the studies completed enable him/her to pursue a postgraduate degree in his/her country, as well as payment of the corresponding fee.
- Students coming from countries where Spanish is not an official language must provide a B2 language proficiency certificate recognized by the Association of Centers for Languages in Higher Education (ACLES).
In accordance with Royal Decree 822/2021, of September 28, which establishes the organization of official university education, in order to access official Master’s degree courses it will be necessary to hold an official Spanish university degree or another degree issued by a higher education institution belonging to another member state of the European Higher Education Area which entitles the holder to access Master’s degree courses in that country.
Likewise, graduates from educational systems outside the European Higher Education Area may be admitted without the need for the homologation of their degrees, after verification by the University that they accredit a level of training equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish university degrees and that they qualify in the country issuing the degree for access to postgraduate studies. Access by this route will not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous degree held by the interested party, nor its recognition for purposes other than that of taking the Master’s degree.
