DINT GRANTS: ALT TÚRIA, BIOSPHERE RESERVE: INTEGRATING BIODIVERSITY, LANDSCAPE, AND SUSTAINABLE RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Every year, the Polytechnic University of Valencia organizes a aid package named DINT through the Office of the Vice President for Planning, Academic Affairs, Quality, and Accreditation, in order to promote the Promotion and Internationalization of Master’s Programs

This call for applications aims to bring the real professional world closer to UPV master’s students. Students are expected to connect with practicing professionals, visit real work environments, and participate in activities that complement their education with practical experience and industry connections.

The call for proposals aligns with the “R” for “Relevant” in the UPV SERVEIX Strategic Plan, which stipulates that master’s degree programs must be socially relevant and aligned with the actual needs of the professional, economic, and institutional spheres.

In this context the coming day (11/03/26), coinciding with the International Day of Biosphere Reserves, the Professional Workshop titled: Alt Túria, Biosphere Reserve: Integrating Biodiversity, Landscape, and Sustainable Rural Development.

The following are scheduled for the event: activities:

  • Visit to the towns in the Alt Túria region: Tuejar, Santa Cruz de Moya, and Aras de los Olmos
  • Conference and roundtable discussion featuring the following experts:

Ms. Susana Romero, manager of the Alt Túria Biosphere Reserve

Virginia Espinosa, forestry engineer for the Aras de los Olmos City Council

Rubén Poza, owner of the Rento d’Orchova estate

This event will allow students to interact directly with professionals, companies, and institutions in the sector, which is of interest both for learning about the various challenges facing the area and the initiatives planned to address them from the perspective of sustainable development, as well as for establishing potential opportunities for internships, etc.

The workshop is open to both students in the Master’s in Bioenvironmental and Landscape Engineering (MUIBIP) and those in the Master’s in Agricultural Engineering (MUIA). MUIA students interested in attending the sessions should contact the master’s program instructor: Sergio Castiñeira Ibáñez ( sercasib@fis.upv.es).

Unless there is anything else to note, I hope you find this proposal of interest. Best regards.

Sincerely,

Andrés Ferrer
