Visit to ANROBOX, industrialized housing

The Master’s Degree in Innovation in the Habitat organized an academic trip to Cuenca and Tomelloso with the aim of learning first-hand about innovative experiences in the field of industrialized construction, wood construction and modular systems. Begoña Serrano and Alberto Rubio, responsible for the courses ofIndustrialization yHousing regulation and policyrespectively, organized this visit, which was attended by Carlos Lerma and José Luís Alapont, also professors, together with the director of the master’s program, Carla Sentieri.

On April 1, we visited the ANRO factory in Tomelloso, where we saw industrialized housing projects developed by  ANROBOX. This allowed the students to analyze real cases in execution and their practical application.

First we were welcomed at the factory offices, where one of the owners, Angel, explained the origin of the factory in 1957 to the present day to contextualize the new line of industrialized housing manufacturing. Later we saw the factory and the prototype 1:1 scale of industrialized housing that they have next to it . After this visit, we went to the hotel in Tomelloso, where we entered the industrialized rooms already assembled and finished. Finally, the visit concluded with a stop at the prison where Cervantes was imprisoned and a lunch in the square of Argamasilla de Alba.

This trip is part of the Master’s training activities oriented towards experiential learning and is aligned with the UPV SIRVE Strategic Plan. The aim is to promote the connection between the university, business and society, as well as the development of practical skills in real environments.
