Admission requirements

The requirements for access to this degree are those generally established in Royal Decree 822/2021, in the wording given in its article 18. Likewise, those established in the Regulations for Pre-registration and Admission to university master’s degree studies at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) are also applicable.

The requirements and evaluation criteria for this university master’s degree have been defined in accordance with the provisions of article 5.2 of the UPV’s own regulations on Pre-registration and Admission to university master’s degree studies in order to guarantee equal opportunities of access to education for students who meet the conditions of access.

They are transparent and objective criteria and make it possible to select, from among the students who apply, those who are most qualified on the basis of their records and merits and under conditions of comparability of these records and merits.

Admission to this master’s degree will not imply, in any case, any modification of the academic and, if applicable, professional effects corresponding to the previous degree held by the interested party, nor its recognition for purposes other than that of pursuing a master’s degree.

Royal Decree 822/2021, dated September 28, allows universities to offer successive academic programs linking a bachelor’s degree and a university master’s degree oriented to professional specialization, and also provides for the regulation, through its own regulations, of a procedure for access to university master’s degree studies in these programs without having completed the related bachelor’s degree.

The UPV offers the PARS in Building. This academic program of Successive Pathway links the Degree in Technical Architecture, whose professional skills enable the exercise of the profession of Technical Architect (Order ECI/3855/2007 of 27 December) and the Master’s Degree in Building, aimed at professional specialization, interdisciplinary knowledge and training towards research, innovation and development in the field of building.

Access to the Academic Program with Successive Pathway in Building for students entering the Universitat Politècnica de València, is done through a specific offer of places. As indicated in RD822/2021 in its ninth additional provision, students who choose to enroll in the Academic Program with Successive Pathway (hereinafter PARS) may, throughout the course of their Bachelor’s and Master’s studies, leave it at any time. Regarding admission to the Master’s Degree, priority in enrollment will be guaranteed to students who have an official Bachelor’s Degree, regardless of whether or not they are taking the PARS. Students who have an official undergraduate university degree that gives access to the Master’s Degree included in the following course will have priority access over PARS students who have not obtained the degree. For these students, the available Master’s degree places will be awarded according to the prioritization criteria established in the Master’s Degree, considering only the credits passed.

The Academic Committee of the Degree is the competent body to establish the evaluation criteria to be applied in order to establish the order of priority in the allocation of places, according to the regulations of Pre-registration and Admission to university master’s degree studies at the UPV and following the guidelines issued by the Vice-Rector’s Office responsible for student affairs.

Reference grade: Degree in Technical Architecture or equivalent degrees that enable the exercise of the profession of Technical Architect.

Related degrees:

  • Degree in Fundamentals of Architecture.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Degree in Public Works Engineering.
  • Other equivalent degrees obtained in universities of the EHEA or international universities where there is a correspondence of the competences of the indicated degrees.

Admission for disabled students

For students with specific educational needs arising from a disability, appropriate support and counseling services will be established to assess the needs of curricular adaptations, itineraries or alternative studies, through the support of the CEDAT Foundation of the UPV.

The CEDAT Foundation of the UPV offers information and advice to members of the university community with disabilities, as well as accompaniment and support in the classroom. In addition, it provides technical aids for study to those members of the student body who, due to their special educational needs, require it. It also promotes and manages training and employment actions for this group, both inside and outside the UPV campuses, and offers different services from its Special Employment Center.

The foundation also carries out projects for the elimination of architectural and urban barriers, comprehensive accessibility plans, accessibility audits, project reviews, advice and design of ideal accessibility models.

General information on access can be found in the Alumni Service – Access

  • If at the time of admission to the degree program you do not have the certification, you must have a personal interview with the academic director of the degree program.

The UPV develops different initiatives to inform the interested public about everything related to official undergraduate and master’s degree programs for each academic year. First of all, its website has a section dedicated to the future student, where updated information related to the degrees, pre-registration, enrollment, cut-off grades, weightings, places offered and other information appears in Spanish, Valencian and English.

You can find general information about access at Student Services – Access.
