The Official College of Computer Engineering of the Valencian Community (COIICV) recognizes the work of Silvia Terrasa, computer engineer, Ph. & Vice Rector of Digital Transformation of the UPV with the Sapiens Professional Award 2026 for its trajectory in the management of digital transformation the momentum of the data governance and the technological modernization in the university environment.
Silvia Terrasa, as Vice Chancellor leads initiatives to adapt the university to an increasingly digital environment, while at the same time guaranteeing the quality, efficiency and social responsibility of technological solutions. Its approach combines strategic vision, technical knowledge and a clear orientation to the service of the university community. Silvia dedicated a few words after the event:
"It is a privilege to receive the Sapiens Profesional award from the Colegio de Ingenieros Informáticos de la Comunidad Valenciana, for my career and leadership at the Universitat Politècnica de València and my contribution in updating the Computer Engineering Degree and Master's Degree cards. I am very grateful to the school for the award, because it means to me the recognition of a career that has always been linked to the defense of the profession. And to receive it just this year, which marks the 50th anniversary of Computer Science studies, is very special for me.
Thank you very much, I feel very honored."
The award was presented by the president of the COIICV Alejandro Blasco, who pointed out that “contemporary society depends on software, algorithms and information systems”, many of which are integrated into critical infrastructures and essential services, which “reinforces the strategic nature and public responsibility of our profession“.
The awards ceremony took place during the Computer Week 2026 held at the Veles e Vents building in Valencia, an event of reference for the technology sector that brings together professionals, companies, universities and public institutions every year.
