The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), in collaboration with the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) has agreed to award up to 10 Full doctoral grants. According to the agreement, the UPV will exempt the selected doctoral students from the enrolment fees. The CSC will provide a monthly allowance (including medical insurance) for the duration of the thesis and a round-trip economy class plane ticket.
2026-2027 Call
Participating PhD Programmes
The five UPV Doctoral Programmes participating in the 2026-2027 call are the following:
- PhD Programme in Telecommunications
- PhD Programme in Industrial Engineering and Production
- PhD Programme in Automation, Robotics and Industrial Computing
- PhD Programme in Computer Science
- PhD Programme in Design, Manufacturing and Management of Industrial Projects
Candidates requirements
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Have Chinese nationality
- Be in possession of a Master’s degree or equivalent before September 15, 2026
- Meet the admission requirements of the PhD programme to which they are applying
- Have a level of English or Spanish equivalent to B2 or higher
- Meet the requirements set by the CSC for the funding of doctoral studies abroad
Candidates are obliged to return to China once they have completed their studies.
Application Process
Interested candidates must complete this form before February 20, 2026, linking a single zip file with the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae, using the form provided
- List of selected thesis projects, using the form provided
- Copy of passport
- Degree: Degree and academic record (the transcript must include the grade point average)
- Master’s degree: Degree, academic record (the transcript must include the grade point average)
If the master’s degree it not yet completed, a certificate issued by your current university confirming that your current studies give access to a doctorate and that you will be eligible to graduate in September 2026 may be submitted - Language proficiency certificates (Spanish or English)
- A letter of motivation for each of the selected thesis projects
All documentation must be in English. For candidates who submit academic records that do not include an average grade, an average grade of 5 out of 10 will be taken.
