Each November 25 the anniversary of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, a day dedicated to raising awareness of the violence suffered by women and girls around the world and to calling on institutions and society to commit to making progress toward its eradication.
According to data from UN Women, 736 million women—nearly one in three—have experienced physical or sexual violence by an intimate partner, sexual violence outside an intimate relationship, or both, at least once in their lifetime. These figures highlight the global scale of a human rights violation that continues to affect millions of women.
In observance of November 25, the UPV’s Gandia Campus is joining this day of awareness and advocacy with various activities and initiatives to promote equality, the prevention of violence against women, and a society free of gender-based violence.
