International Women’s Day

Exhibitions, concerts and reading of the 8M manifesto are some of the activities with which the Gandia Campus reminds that the fight for gender equality is not limited to March 8, but is a permanent commitment.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Gandia Campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) joins this commemoration by adhering to the Manifesto 8M, prepared by the CRUE Spanish Universities under the slogan proposed by UN Women: “Rights. Justice. Action. For all women and girls”. A motto that directly challenges our institutions, whose mission is to generate, transmit and apply knowledge through research, teaching and transfer.

On this International Women’s Day 2026, the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities reaffirms its commitment to “a university free of inequality, diverse in its leadership, co-responsible in care and exemplary in the active defense of human rights”.

Reading of the 8M Manifesto

The reading of the Manifesto 8M, by students of the Equity Area of the Students’ Delegation, will again bring together the university community of the Campus of Gandia at the doors of the Aulario. On this occasion, it will take place on Monday, March 9, at 12:00 pm.

Music for women

To commemorate 8M, there will also be musical performances by Roxie Heart, Las Becarias and Maniquí, in the concert organized by the Equity Area of the Students’ Delegation in collaboration with the Equality Committee of the Gandia campus.

In addition, people who come to the exhibition hall on Thursday, March 5 will be able to enjoy the music and participate in a quiz on the legacy of women throughout history, with prizes for those who demonstrate their knowledge.
