Music, sound and image

The eighth edition of the meeting reinforces the connection between higher education and professional arts education.

The Gandia Campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) will once again become a meeting point between the university and the artistic education with the celebration of the VIII Music, Sound and Image Meeting.

This initiative, already consolidated as a cultural and educational event of reference, brings together the Josep Climent Professional Conservatory of Music of Oliva and to the Rafael Talens Pelló Professional Conservatory of Music of Cullera representing the regions of La Safor and La Ribera, in an event that stands out for its artistic quality and its educational projection.

A bridge between universities and conservatories

The main objective of this meeting – Music, Sound and Image – is to bring to the public the activities that are developed in professional conservatories and strengthen the relationship with the university environment. In this sense, the students of the conservatories have the opportunity to “meet and connect with the university campus that is closest to them,” said UPV professor Jesús Alba, coordinator of the meeting, for whom “this relationship fosters the exchange of experiences, artistic growth and the projection of future training itineraries.”

A concert open to the public

One of the most anticipated moments of each edition is the concert open to the public. Young talent shines on stage with musical proposals of great quality and sensitivity, confirming the excellent educational level of both conservatories in each meeting of Music, Sound and Image.

Reflection on acoustics and musical experience

The program of this eighth edition is completed with the conference “Acoustic materials and musical quality in halls”, an intervention “of great interest for students and professionals” to deepen the relationship between acoustics, space and musical experience.

With this new edition, the Encuentro Música, Sonido e Imagen reaffirms its role as a platform for connection between professional musical training and the university environment, consolidating itself as an essential event in the cultural agenda of the Gandia Campus and open to all citizens.
