Academic excellence

The Gandia Campus rewards its graduates with the best records.

Ana, Leila, Antonio, Javier, Cristian, Noemí, Álvaro, Víctor and Rubén are the best academic records of the 2024-2025 academic year of the Gandia Campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). The recognition ceremony, held in the Aula Magna of the campus, has served to value the effort, perseverance and dedication demonstrated throughout their university studies.

  • Ana Díaz Beneyto, Degree in Environmental Sciences
  • Leila Souf Garrido, Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication
  • Antonio González López, Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication Systems Engineering, Sound and Image.
  • Javier Gracia Fernández, Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication Systems Engineering, Sound and Image
  • Cristian Sebastián Borgoñoz Mas, Bachelor’s Degree in Interactive Technology
  • Noemí Paulet Monzó, Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism
  • Álvaro Acevedo de los Santos, Double Degree in Business Administration and Management + Tourism
  • Víctor Morillo Cuñat, Double Degree in Forestry and Environmental Engineering + Environmental Sciences
  • Rubén Prieto Molina, Double Degree in Telecommunication Systems Engineering, Sound and Image + Audiovisual Communication

The nine best awarded records share two features: one is the average grade equal to or higher than eight points and the other, which is not seen, but is essential, are the hours of study, personal sacrifices and daily perseverance that reflect the dedication maintained throughout the career.

Antonio González, representing the awardees, was in charge of addressing the audience during the ceremony. “Although we received recognition for our academic records, I like to think that something more than an average is being rewarded: our university’s commitment to merit, effort and hard work,” he emphasized.

The management of the Gandia Campus emphasized the shared nature of this recognition. “We wanted to celebrate it with an event in which you can share the award with your family, friends, colleagues and faculty, who have accompanied you during your studies on campus,” said the director, Vicenç Almenar.

The celebration was charged with emotion. It is not just the collection of an award,” explained Antonio, “but a return to what has been our home for years”. Studying at the Gandia Campus “is a unique experience” and has “something difficult to find on larger campuses: closeness and empathy”.

The awards received consist of an accrediting diploma and the corresponding notation on the academic transcript, a recognition that highlights the value of their educational excellence. “We have to thank the teachers who challenged us to think, to question ourselves and to solve complex problems. Thank you also for your demands,” said Antonio, and also “to our classmates” because “although the diplomas show only one name, we have not achieved it alone. Behind a good average there are shared notes and explanations five minutes before the exam,” he recalled.

The purpose of this call, in which students participate automatically, is to reward the best record of each degree or double degree among those who completed their studies, on this occasion, in the 2024-2025 academic year. For the vice-rector for Planning, Studies, Quality and Accreditation, José Pedro García, these awards recognize “academic excellence”.

With the End of Degree Awards, the UPV Gandia Campus reaffirms its commitment to excellence and recognizes the merit of those who have completed their studies with the best grades. “All the awardees share something in common: you have demonstrated academic excellence, and that deserves a public recognition like this,” said Vicenç Almenar. Congratulations to all of them.
