Activate two-factor authentication (2FA) to access Microsoft

The UPV reinforces the cybersecurity of the university community in Microsoft corporate applications and services (email, OneDrive, Word, Excel or Teams).

During the month of October, the student body must activate the two-factor authentication (2FA) to access Microsoft UPV services. Although at the moment it will only be mandatory for students, it is recommended to other groups to configure it as soon as possible, since its implementation will be progressive.

If you do not yet have 2FA configured, you will need to download and activate the official Microsoft Authenticator application (available in the Play Store and App Store). As of October 16, the system will begin to restrict access to students who have not enabled it.

What is two-factor authentication (2FA)? After entering your UPV username and password, you will need to confirm your identity using the Microsoft Authenticator application, which adds an extra layer of security against unauthorized access. From October 16, the system will begin to restrict access to students who have not enabled it.

What do you have to do? Follow the step-by-step configuration guide for 2FA for Microsoft. If you already have it activated in the UPV, no further action is required.

Need help? We recommend that you set up 2FA as soon as possible. This will avoid access problems and will help the IT service to better respond to requests from the entire university community.

If you have any questions, you can contact the IT staff at your center or open a Polyconsultation with the IT services.
