Conference on the creative process around the elaboration of a mural.
We are kicking off the cultural activities at the campus with this conference on the creative process involved in the creation of a mural on a wall.
The Gandia campus is home to a series of murals that commemorate the role of women in science and the arts. On this occasion, we wanted to take advantage of the creation of a new mural to explain the creative process behind making a mural that represents a person. What aspects should be emphasized? How does the artist prepare for the design? And, above all, what is the step-by-step process of creating the artistic work?
From this idea, the conference “Quan les parets parlen” was born, which will take place from September 19 to October 2. During this event, we will accompany the author, the artist Sergio Terrones Almela “Flug”, in the creation of the mural. We will also be able to enjoy a concluding conference, where a video documenting the entire process, as well as impressions from the author and the participants, will be shown.
The main subject of the mural is Chelo Loureiro Vilarelle, a Galician film producer and director specializing in animated films. She founded the production company Abano Producións in 2007 and has won two Goya awards. She is also an activist advocating for the recognition of women in the audiovisual field.
