Living with Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia and chronic pain represent one of the major healthcare challenges worldwide, significantly affecting the daily lives of sufferers and presenting a challenge for healthcare workers.

Among the initiatives developed by the program Safor Health a new project has been carried out to cycle of citizen science workshops focused on how citizens can actively contribute to science, either through their knowledge of the disease, their experience or their resources.

In the first, the needs and experiences of patients and associations during their disease process were collected. The second workshop, addressed the perspective of healthcare personnel on diagnosis and treatment. And in the third workshop, the key points raised in the two previous sessions were analyzed.

The fourth workshop, the cycle of citizen science workshops closes with a series of workshops on creativity and co-design of solutions. The aim is to encourage, in a collaborative manner among all the groups involved (patients, professionals, companies, research personnel, etc.), the development of research and innovation projects that respond to the challenges identified in the previous workshops.
