AI helps you choose your studies

Pau and Nora, two new AI assistants created by the UPV, recommend degrees and clarify all your doubts about the university.

The Universitat Politècnica de València has launched a new university counselling service based on artificial intelligence. The platform incorporates two conversational assistants, Pau and Nora, who know in detail the entire UPV degree offerings and resolve, quickly and personally, the doubts of those who are deciding their academic future.

The objective is to accompany each user in the search for the degree that best matches his or her interests, talents and the professional life he or she envisions.

The service is articulated around two different profiles:

Pau adopts the role of an experienced university student. She expresses herself with a close and natural language, typical of her generation, and converses with future students as an older sister who has already gone through the process of choosing a career would do. Her goal is to help them discover options, resolve doubts and better understand what the college experience is like.

Nora, the “Academic Counsellor,” on the other hand, represents a teacher or academic counselor. It maintains a more formal and analytical tone and is specially designed for families, school counsellors and teachers who accompany students in making decisions about their academic future.

Beyond answering questions about degrees, access grades or career opportunities, the university counselling service guide based on the tastes, interests, strengths or aspirations of each student. After talking with the user, they are able to identify the most appropriate options within the UPV offer and propose the degrees that best fit their preferences.

The UPV reminds that these assistants use artificial intelligence technology and that, like any system of this type, they can generate inaccurate or incorrect answers. For this reason, the information provided is always for guidance purposes and, in any case, should be compared with the official information published on the UPV website. which prevails at all times as a valid and updated source.
