Until July 31, an initiative aimed at the youngest members of the family where they can have fun and learn at the same time.
The month of June has ended with the start of the new edition of the Escola d’Estiu at the Gandia campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). Ahead, five weeks full of activities, laughter and new friendships. “It is a great alternative where children have fun and, in turn, learn”. In addition, “it supports the reconciliation of family and work,” says Raquel Jiménez, coordinator of the campus Summer School.
A different kind of summer on the university campus
Twenty girls and boys between the ages of 4 and 14 participate in the 2025 edition of the Escola d’Estiu of the Gandia campus, from June 30 to July 31. “We have prepared traditional games, sports, crafts, dances and, of course, there will be trips to the beach or to the swimming pool, a visit to a farm school and a camp for the older ones,” explains Raquel.

Radio and television workshops are added to the list of activities. “We take advantage of the facilities the campus has and the children can learn about the degrees studied here.” The program closes with an activity “that was very popular last summer”. It consists of “preparing a dance choreography or a short play to be performed on the last day of Escola”.
The opportunity to learn, and above all to enjoy the different activities, awakening creativity and imagination, makes many of its participants repeat summer after summer. “Most of the girls and boys who come to the Summer School repeat”. In general, “they are the children of UPV staff, but not all of them, because enrollment is open to both first-degree relatives and those from outside the campus,” adds Raquel Jiménez, from the coordination of the Escola d’Estiu at the Gandia campus.
Equipped with the characteristic Escola d’Estiu t-shirts and backpacks full of energy, youngsters and monitors prepare for a new day. “Our intention is to continue with the dynamics of previous years, achieving a fun atmosphere, full of games for the little ones on the university campus”.
