++POSITIV VII International Congress on Visual Arts Research :: ANIAV 2026
It will be held on July 1, 2 and 3, 2026 at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Universitat Politècnica de València.
The events that have taken place in the world in recent times force us to situate ourselves and think about the role that the visual arts can play in this new situation. Fortunately, this is not the first time that the challenges seem excessive; art has been living in crisis contexts for decades and has proposed spaces for creation, resistance and alternatives that have accompanied us up to the present.
In this VII edition of the International Congress of Research in Visual Arts ANIAV we want to examine the state of the question based on a slogan ++POSITIV that appeals to the propositive, critical or contradictory capacity of art. The double positive can be affirmation but also immoderation and contradiction.
All possibilities are open, because with the ANIAV congresses we want to give voice to the differences and dissidences in contemporary artistic proposals, from an open and inclusive perspective. In this edition we propose the usual fields of research on practices, processes and contexts of contemporary creation; critical thinking, artistic research and theoretical frameworks; mediation, transmission and care of art and visual culture.
