The 2025 Report on the use of animals in experimentation at the Universitat Politècnica de València shows a significant reduction in the total number of uses, which falls to 1,615, reflecting improved efficiency in scientific procedures and a commitment to reducing animal use. Fish are the most commonly used group, followed by rabbits and poultry, while no severe or non-recovery procedures were recorded, indicating improvements in animal welfare. Most uses are concentrated in translational and applied research—especially in animal nutrition—and the overall results demonstrate compliance with current regulations and the application of ethical principles of replacement, reduction, and refinement in scientific experimentation.
