Commitment and Transparency: The Andersen-UPV Chair at the Sustainability 360 Conference

On March 25, the Andersen-UPV Chair participated in the Corresponsables Conference: “Sustainability 360: Leadership, Innovation, Regulation, and Responsible Communication,” held at the Blue Cube Auditorium of the Universitat Politècnica de València.

The event was organized in collaboration with the UPV Master’s in Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, and featured the participation of Ricardo Martín, General Director of Corresponsables; Salomé Cuesta, Vice-Rector for Art, Science, Technology, and Society at UPV; and Francisco Soria, General Director of Economics of the Generalitat Valenciana.

The conference brought together professionals from academia, business, and institutions to analyze the main challenges and opportunities surrounding sustainability from a comprehensive perspective, addressing key aspects such as responsible leadership, innovation, regulatory frameworks, and corporate communication.

The Andersen-UPV Chair was present at the first roundtable of the day, titled “Sustainability 360,” with a presentation by Joaquín Ureña, Partner at Andersen’s Valencia office and Head of the Economic and Financial Law Department, who focused his talk on the importance of corporate communication as a fundamental pillar for achieving robust sustainability in organizational economic practices.

During his presentation, he emphasized the need to base communication on truthful and measurable information, supported by objective indicators:

“The reality is that for effective communication, we must use data that can be verified, such as KPIs or measurable metrics. Alongside this, transparency is essential. When we communicate, we must clearly explain what we are doing, what we intend to do, and what our plans are, being very clear and honest at all times.”

He also highlighted that responsible communication not only strengthens stakeholder trust but also helps build a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the company.

At the Andersen-UPV Chair, we highly value participating in these kinds of forums, which promote knowledge exchange and foster responsible and sustainable practices with a real impact on society and the business community.
