Explaining the world economic crisis in the last number of IEG-ISSUES

Enrique Ballesteros (professor emeritus at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia) gives us an excelent explanation of the recent economic crisis.

 

The "Crisis", whose scope was limited to the financial sector in the beginning but then transmitted to other sectors of the real economy, resulted in a significant liquidity crisis and credit restrictions. Its effects are still being felt at both the global and country-specific levels.

Some of the most common examples include: huge fiscal deficits, high unemployment rates, low interest rates; recession, contraction or slow growth of economic activity, etc.

The following article of IEG-Issues is aimed at analyzing a set of aspects of the recent world crisis. In this edition Enrique Ballestero, professor emeritus at the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, uses a particular metaphorical language to try an approach an explanation of the phenomenon that the world economy is still experiencing even today.
