This was announced on Tuesday by the spokesperson of the Consell, Ruth Merino, after the celebration of an extraordinary plenary session that approved the decree that establishes the new organisational structure of the Valencian Government.
Esther Gómez is a Civil Engineer by the UPV (2002), Master in Port Management and Intermodal Transport by the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (2005) and a PhD by the UPV (2015).
Her teaching career began in 2003 with a Ministry grant for faculty staff training; in 2007, she moved to the Universitat d'Alacant as a collaborating lecturer. In 2015, she returned to the UPV as a visiting lecturer, where she worked as a lecturer (non-tenured) in the Department of Transport Engineering and Infrastructure.
Gómez is the co-inventor of the international patent for the Cubipod®, an element for the construction of dyke mantels, for which she was awarded the gold medal with congratulations from the jury at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva (2011).
In 2021, she joined the rectoral team of Rector José E. Capilla as Vice-Rector for Students and Entrepreneurship, from where she has launched the innovative PIAE+ ( the Comprehensive Student Support Plan), which has also been awarded as the best programme for the guidance of university students at a national level.
The new regional secretary for Treasury, Eusebio Monzó Martínez, has a degree in economics. He has been an innovation agent at the Universitat Politècnica de València for five years. During these years, he has been particularly committed to the promotion of Innovative Public Procurement, involving UPV’s research structures, startups and spinoffs in the projects.
Likewise, he has also promoted the participation of UPV R&D&I and Transfer in public administration calls for Preliminary Market Consultations prior to the purchase of innovation, both at regional, national and international levels.
