Students who have completed Spanish secondary education studies must apply to the Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture for their recognition of equivalency c/o the Subdirección General de Convalidaciones y Homologaciones de Estudios Extranjeros, C/ Paseo del Prado, 28; Madrid. All the documents to be submitted must be legally validated and authenticated (through diplomatic channels).
Once the application for recognition has been submitted, students must pass the university entry exam which is specifically organised by the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (Spanish National Open University). There may be some exceptions as a result of the specific agreements signed between Spain and other countries.
UPV degrees have a limited number of places, therefore students with foreign studies must submit, as any other candidate would, a completed pre-registration form. Registration usually runs from 15th June to the first week in July.
Foreign students (excluding those from European Union member states) who come from countries where the principle of reciprocity with Spanish university students applies are allocated 3% of the places available. Entry order is decided on the basis of the qualifications achieved by the student in the university entry exam and the average mark of his academic record.
