"Low Field MRI: Navigating Through Noise", Marco Fiorito

The limited signal that characterises low field MRI has pushed researchers to develop innovative methods and to recycle existing ones to navigate through low SNR. While hardware optimisation proves crucial to mitigate noise, specific acquisition strategies can leverage the favourable range of values covered by the magnetisation parameters at very low fields, hence yielding improved signal-gathering capability. Additionally, creative sampling approaches, combined with modern computational reconstruction methods, are becoming essential to converge to scan times compatible with clinical expectations. While challenging, the opportunities offered by low-cost and more flexible devices make low field MRI one of the most captivating topics within the entire community.
