First, choose a piece of research that you are working on now. Identify the main parts that make up your in-person presentation of a research paper as outlined in unit 7 of this course, and decide on the language structures you will use as outlined in units 7 and 9. Revise what you have learned and review your notes if necessary. Record a video clip in which you are presenting the introduction of your paper and some of the results of your research. This means that the recording should not include the methodology and concluding sections. The video clip should last a maximum of 6 minutes. You should design 1-2 slides for the introduction and 2-3 slides for some of the results. These slides should be included in a PowerPoint presentation you must upload as part of the assignment. You are going to record an IN-PERSON presentation, NOT an online presentation. What is a recorded in-person presentation? A presentation made and recorded in a physical setting (a room with a screen and the audience present) with the presenter fully visible (whole body). What is a recorded online presentation? A presentation delivered and recorded over the Internet with the focus on the slides and the presenter's head and shoulders visible in a small window on-screen. Record yourself making the presentation of the introduction and results part (you can ask a friend to record yourself), including the view of the slides. Remember, we need to see you as if you were presenting in front of an audience to assess your body language and how you address the public. This means that the recordings with the view of your face only, inserted in the screen showing the slides, will not be accepted. You can do the recording with a mobile phone. Pick a suitable place free of noise, and once you have finished the recording, remember to watch it to ensure that the quality is ok. Finally, upload the video clip to the platform media.upv.es and paste the link to it in the space provided in Assignments. Click HERE to access a file that guides you through the process. You also have to send us your PowerPoint presentation through assignments before the deadline for this task (14th March 2026, 11.55 pm). We will not accept links to the videos provided through other software programs. Back
