Academic Year 2026-2027 Opening Ceremony
Professor Manuel Esteve will deliver the opening lecture, which will examine threats in cyberspace

You can follow the Solemn Opening Ceremony of the 2026–2027 academic year live via this link on Thursday, 10 September at 11.00 am. The ceremony will take place in the Auditorium on the Vera campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV).
Following the reading of the report on the previous academic year, the new Professors will be recognised, after which academic staff will be honoured for receiving their fifth positive evaluation of their research activity. During the ceremony, the new PhD graduates will also be conferred their degrees, and the Doctoral Thesis Awards will be presented.
Inaugural lecture
The inaugural lecture will be delivered by Professor Manuel Esteve Domingo, who will speak on "Cybersecurity and Cyberdefence: shared challenges in the face of threats in cyberspace". A speech by Rector José E. Capilla will bring the ceremony to a close and mark the start of the new academic year.
