The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has launched "The Science of Running", the second instalment in its new audiovisual series on science and sport, which the UPV – through its Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (Communication Area) and the Sports Area – has been boosting this academic year.
What is the correct way to run? What is drop? How does my foot strike affect my performance? How do interval sessions help me? What is the best time to train? These are some of the questions addressed in this popular science series, comprising eight short video spots on the world of running. All of them were filmed on the recently refurbished athletics track at the UPV's Vera campus, in collaboration with the UPV's athletics and trail running section.
All episodes are available on the UPV Communication Area's YouTube channel
Featured in the series are Javier Rada, Ximo Santonja, Mireia Romana and Álvaro Terrones, members of the UPV Athletics Section, who answer the various questions in this first season of 'The Science of Running'.
New season for the section
Meanwhile, the UPV Athletics and Trail Section (SDUPV) is already preparing for its new season. It is opening its doors to the entire university community. Once again, this year, the club will offer group training sessions tailored to all levels on the campus athletics track. "Throughout September, interested students will be able to join free trial training sessions to get to know the team's dynamics and its personalised training plans," says Javi Rada, president of the UPV Athletics and Trail Running Section.
Furthermore, during the next academic year, the section will continue collaborating with *La Ciencia del Running*through a new series focusing on trail running.
