The Beihang Valencia Polytechnic Institute (BVPI) offers you four technology degrees to make a difference on a global scale

[ 23/06/2026 ]

In an interconnected, increasingly competitive world, many students are seeking a unique education that will set them apart in any selective process. From the 2026–2027 academic year onwards, the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) will offer something no other Spanish university does: official degrees taught face-to-face in China. These degrees carry the same validity as those obtained in Spain, but with incredible learning resources, an innovative teaching system, and classes delivered in a distinctly international environment.

We are talking about the Beihang Valencia Polytechnic Institute (BVPI), the UPV's new international campus located on the 770,000 m2 Hangzhou campus, which boasts the most comprehensive range of state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. It has been established to provide excellence in education in strategic areas of engineering and technology. It is the result of an agreement reached with Beihang University, one of the world's leading universities according to leading rankings.

The BVPI will start classes in early September with four new bachelor's degrees, six master's degrees and four PhD programmes, focusing on three fields of study: telecommunications, computer engineering and artificial intelligence, and aeronautical engineering. Classes will be taught entirely in English, and the academic staff will consist mainly of Spanish (from the UPV) and Chinese academics.

Admissions system

The four new undergraduate degrees that the BVPI is adding to the UPV's academic programme are:

· Bachelor's Degree in Communication Networks and Systems

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Technology

· Bachelor's Degree in Intelligent Manufacturing

· Bachelor's Degree in Robotics Engineering

Although taught in China, the admissions system for these four degree programmes is similar to any other degree programme offered by a Valencian public university. In other words, they are available amongst the options listed in the pre-enrolment application for undergraduate studies provided by the Valencian Regional Government (help webinar).

Admission will be determined based on the applicant's average grade in their upper secondary school (or vocational training) academic record and their PAU (University Entrance Examination) results. Please note that the period for completing this process runs from 15 June to 3 July.

It is important to note that, when enrolling, students admitted to the BVPI must submit the following documentation: a valid passport, a certificate of no criminal convictions, a medical certificate in accordance with an official template, and a valid student visa to enter the country. Students of Chinese nationality may only apply via the Chinese pre-enrolment route.

Bachelor's Degree in Communication Networks and Systems

This degree offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary training in the field of telecommunications networks, focusing on the design, implementation and optimisation of wireless and guided communication systems.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Technology

This is a technical and scientific degree that prepares students to succeed in the field of computer technology and to tackle the sector's current and future challenges.

Bachelor's Degree in Intelligent Manufacturing

This programme provides knowledge in industrial and mechanical engineering, automation, robotics, process control and quality management, alongside skills in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, data analysis and digital manufacturing, which are characteristic of Industry 4.0.

Bachelor's Degree in Robotics Engineering

It offers multidisciplinary training focused on the design, development, and application of robotic systems, integrating knowledge from industrial engineering, electronics, mechanics, and computer science.

Innovative learning methodology

Lectures and workshops will be delivered entirely in English, and the teaching methodology will be based on a project-based learning system with continuous assessment.

One of the programme's distinguishing features will be its close links with the Chinese business and technology sector. The UPV has already secured collaboration agreements for internships and training activities with Huawei and Unitree, whilst it is in the process of finalising a similar partnership with Geely, one of the leading international groups in the automotive and smart mobility sector.

Accommodation from €250 per year

The city of Hangzhou, with a population of almost 11 million and just 170 km from Shanghai, is the main hub for technological innovation in the country. Known as the Asian Silicon Valley, it is home to the headquarters of several major global corporations, including Alibaba, DeepSeek, TikTok, and Unitree, among others.

The BVPI has a hall of residence with a capacity for up to 2,000 students. Accommodation options are very affordable and comfortable, with prices of around 250 euros a year.

The aim of the UPV with this new academic programme centred on the BVPI is for students to develop a high-impact international professional profile, with the ability to thrive in intercultural contexts and a practical approach, enabling them to lead strategic global sectors.
