The UPV launches two AI assistants for university guidance

The new AI assistant website answers questions about degree programmes, admissions and university life

[ 11/06/2026 ]

The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has launched a new university guidance service based on artificial intelligence. The platform features two conversational assistants, Pau and Nora, who have detailed knowledge of all the degree programmes offered by the UPV and provide quick, personalised answers to queries from those deciding on their academic future.

The aim is to support each user in finding the degree that best suits their interests, talents and the career they envisage.

The service is structured around two distinct profiles:

- Pau takes on the role of an experienced university student. She expresses herself in a warm, natural language typical of her generation, conversing with prospective students just like an older sister who has already gone through the process of choosing a degree. Her goal is to help them discover options, answer questions, and gain a better understanding of what the university experience is really like.

- Nora, on the other hand, represents a professor or academic advisor. She maintains a more formal and analytical tone, and is specifically designed for families, school counselors, and teachers who support students in making decisions about their academic future.

Beyond simply answering questions about degrees, admission cut-off marks, or career opportunities, this new university guidance service provides direction based on each student's tastes, interests, strengths, and aspirations. After chatting with the user, they are able to identify the most suitable options within the UPV's offerings and suggest the degree programs that best match their preferences.

The UPV would like to remind users that these assistants use artificial intelligence and, like any system of this type, may generate inaccurate responses. Therefore, the information they provide is always for guidance only and, in any case, should be cross-checked against the official information published on the UPV website, which remains the valid and up-to-date source at all times.
