They are the researchers of the future — those whose education, creativity and innovations will shape society in the medium term. Children and teenagers who, for one day, took over the Vera campus (València) of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) to celebrate the sixth edition of the Technology Fair at the School of Aerospace Engineering and Industrial Design (ETSIADI).
The event brought together students from schools across the Valencian Community, who competed before a panel of experts with their own technological projects.
In total, more than 500 students, organised into 82 teams, took part in the grand final event of a competition organised annually by CEFIRE, with the collaboration of the Association of Technology Teachers of the Valencian Community (APTCV), the Professional Associations of Industrial Engineers (COII) and Technical Industrial Engineers (COGITI), and the UPV, through ETSIADI and the School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII).
As is now tradition, the event — divided into age categories — also served as the first stage of the 5th Valencian Olympiad of Industrial Engineering for those teams registered for both competitions.
At the end of the morning, the winners of the Technology Fair and the teams selected to advance to the second stage of the Olympiad were announced. This next phase will take place on 7 May at 5:00 PM at ETSII–UPV. From this stage, the representatives of the Valencian Community will be chosen for the National Olympiad of Industrial Engineering, to be held on 10 June in Badajoz.
