A unique experience in Hangzhou

From 13 to 26 July, Beihang University will host a new edition of its International Summer School on STEM disciplines at its Hangzhou campus (China). Among other topics, the programme includes talks on nanoelectronics, advanced materials, low-carbon technologies and smart energy systems, medical engineering, aircraft of the future, Large Language Model (LLM), air safety, simulation technology and applications, Model Predictive Control (MPC), AI, photonics…
The initiative is primarily aimed at undergraduate students or students with a master's degree aged between 18 and 50, with an interest in engineering and advanced materials, and sufficient knowledge of English. The first week will consist of specialised academic training, whilst the second week will feature cultural activities and sightseeing. Furthermore, the course will facilitate interaction among students and academic staff from different countries, fostering academic and cultural cooperation.
Free accommodation, meals, and registration
Beihang University covers all training, accommodation, and meal expenses during the stay. Selected applicants will be accommodated in the university residence on the Hangzhou campus, a brand-new campus with a total floor area of 770,000 m2, which includes classrooms, laboratories, workshops, meeting rooms, lecture theatres, a gym, an athletics track, a swimming pool, football pitches, basketball courts, restaurants, canteens… It was inaugurated in 2023 and brings together students and staff from 140 different nationalities.
Students will only be required to cover the cost of their flight to Hangzhou and medical insurance. The registration period will remain open until 30 June 2026.

For its part, Hangzhou is one of the most beautiful cities in Asia, known as 'paradise on earth'. It is also a technological hub, China's Silicon Valley, home to leading companies such as Alibaba, TikTok, DeepSeek, and Unitree. Hangzhou can be reached from Shanghai in just over an hour by high-speed train.
