Entrepreneurial leadership Alumni UPV

A hundred entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs share an inspiring afternoon of networking with Carlos Ferrando, Elena Moreno, and Carlos Ledó

[ 05/03/2026 ]

'Hire people who share your values, and you will achieve a healthy business culture, with infinite improvement and constant change.' This is one of the insights that Carlos Ledó, founder of 22 companies since his time as an agricultural engineering student at the UPV, shared with other attendees at #AlumniUPVEmprendeDay 2026 - 1st Meeting of UPV Entrepreneurs, the networking afternoon that brought together around a hundred entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs at The Terminal Hub.

Backed by his successes - Idai Nature, a company founded in 2009, expanded to operate in 90 countries and became a world leader in biocontrol sales; VEGANIC received the Emprende XXI Award from La Caixa and ENISA in 2025; leaders such as Steve Wozniak, Barack Obama and Ana Botín have recognised his work... - Ledó was accompanied by two other prestigious entrepreneurs with the UPV hallmark: Elena Moreno, co-founder and CEO of meKreo Engineering SL with more than 27 years of experience in business development, general management and national and international industry, and Carlos Ferrando, founder and CEO of Closca, now embarking on a new project, VOLATS, his commitment to the recovery of Valencia's agricultural heritage through the marketing of a premium EVOO.

'Being an entrepreneur means exploring, and that sometimes means not knowing where you are.'

Both industrial engineers from the UPV, Moreno, highlighted the collaborative nature of the event, 'fundamental in the context of the need to create solutions, technology and innovation'. At the same time, Ferrando recalled that 'being an entrepreneur means exploring, and exploring sometimes means not knowing where you are. Accept it and enjoy the journey, because guilt is a bad travelling companion if you want to build something valuable'.

The event, organised by Alumni UPV in collaboration with IDEAS UPV and The Terminal Hub, served to bring together successful entrepreneurs with emerging project creators who aspire to follow in their footsteps, in an exciting afternoon of knowledge sharing, aspirations, and experiences among members of the UPV community, which continues to generate high-impact projects at the local, national, and international levels.
