Antoni Muntadas is one of the most influential artists on the international scene. Living in New York since 1971, he has developed a transdisciplinary body of work that lies at the intersection of art, technology, communication and cultural criticism.
A pioneer in the use of media such as photography, video and the internet, anticipating debates that are now central to the academic and artistic circles, his work has been recognised with the most prestigious awards in the field, such as the National Prize for Plastic Arts (Spain, 2005) and the Velázquez Prize for Plastic Arts (Ministry of Culture, 2009), as well as grants from the Guggenheim Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation and Ars Electronica.
