2024 Environmental Recognition

The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has awarded its School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) the 2024 Environmental Recognition Award, a distinction granted since 2012 to the institution's unit with the most outstanding results in environmental performance audits.

The award, which includes a €3,000 prize for the unit, was received by the Director of the ETSII-UPV, Ángel Ortiz, from the Rector of the UPV, José E. Capilla, who acknowledged not only 'the excellent environmental results in the internal audit' obtained by the ETSII-UPV, but also 'the involvement and participation of the unit's members in achieving them'.

Mª Carmen López, Best Environmental Spokesperson

Since 2021, the UPV has also recognised the person considered the Best Environmental Spokesperson, an award that this year has been given to Mª Carmen López Andújar, from the UPV Children's Centre.

These awards, which aim to publicly acknowledge the efforts made by UPV staff and units, were approved at the Environmental Commission meeting held on 30 January, marking the thirteenth year they have been presented.

The award ceremony, held in the Rector's office at the UPV, was attended by the award winners and the Rector himself, as well as the Director of the Green Transition Area, Mar Ortega Reig, and the Head of the Environmental Unit, Cristina Martí Barranco.
