[ 17/06/2025 ]

The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) is, according to the latest update of the U-Ranking, the third-best university in Spain and number 1 in the country in the field of Sciences.

This is certified by the 13th edition of the prestigious indicator of the BBVA Foundation and the Valencian Institute for Economic Research (IVIE), which analyses teaching, research and innovation, and job placement for 96% of the Spanish university system in terms of the number of undergraduate students.

The only alternative to the Madrid-Barcelona axis in the top 5

In the overall ranking, the UPV is also the only alternative to the Madrid-Barcelona axis in the top 5. It is among the ten most outstanding universities in the country in teaching (4th), research and innovation (8th).

Best technical university in Spain in terms of results

Along with its overall indicator, U-Ranking also carries out a second annual ranking in terms of results. In this ranking, the UPV, which is in the top 10 in all three areas of analysis, is also considered the best technical university in Spain.

The UPV, internationally recognised by all top-level rankings

The ranking carried out by U-Ranking maintains the UPV's high rating for another year, an institution recognised not only at the national level but also by all top-level international rankings.

Not surprisingly, in its most recent edition, the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU, popularly known as the Shanghai ranking) ranked the UPV as the best technical university in Spain, as well as including it for the 20th consecutive year, among the 500 best universities in the world.

Likewise, the latest QS World University Rankings publication included the UPV in the top 500 worldwide for the 13th consecutive year, also naming it the best university in the Valencian Community.

In addition, Times Higher Education (THE), in its sixth edition of THE Impact Rankings, recognised the UPV as one of the 200 universities with the greatest social and economic impact in the world, as well as the best in Spain, the most outstanding of the national technological universities and number one in the Valencian Community in this field.
