The UPV is the best university in Spain for studying Fine Arts, Food Science and Technology, and Chemical Engineering. This is corroborated by the results of the recently published latest edition of the 50 Degrees Ranking, carried out by the newspaper El Mundo based on the application of 27 criteria and the opinion of more than 3,000 teachers.
According to the indicator, the UPV is the technical university with the highest number of places in the ranking, with 13, ahead of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (11), the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (9), and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (1).
Not surprisingly, the UPV is the 5th university in Spain with the highest number of places in the ranking above - after the Complutense (27), the Autònoma de Barcelona (24), the Universitat de Barcelona (20) and the Autónoma de Madrid (18) - and the only alternative to the Madrid-Barcelona axis, together with the University of Navarra (6th, with 12, tied with Carlos III), which are all in the top 10.
Regarding results by degree, in addition to the above-mentioned top three, it is also the second best rated university for Agricultural Engineering and Biotechnology; the third in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Telecommunications Technology Engineering; the fourth in Electrical Engineering; and the fifth most rated in Building and Computer Engineering.
At the regional level, the UPV is the university in the Valencian Community with the most places in the ranking, surpassing the total of all the others, 11, distributed as follows: University of Alicante (6), University of Valencia (3), Jaume I University of Castellón (1) and Miguel Hernández University (1).
The results of this 24th edition of the ranking, therefore, once again endorse the teaching quality of the UPV, a quality recognised not only at the national level -the last edition of the U-Ranking ranked it as the best university in Spain- but also by the main international indicators of university excellence: Shanghai, QS, and THE.
