The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) joins in mourning the loss of Miguel Burdeos Baño, a prominent businessman, philanthropist and member of The Social Council of the university, whose death was confirmed yesterday after he passed away on 29 October.
The UPV mourns the loss of the businessman, 'a person of great heart and an exemplary professional, whose departure leaves a deep void in our community'.
Miguel Burdeos dedicated more than 12 years of his life to the service of the UPV, playing key roles as a member of The Social Council and The Governing Council of the UPV and leading with great dedication the Líderes Chair.
'His commitment and generosity to our university and Valencian society leave an indelible mark and a legacy that will endure over time,' says the UPV in its statement.'
'Those who had the privilege of working with him highlight his intelligence, generosity and human warmth, which made him a much loved and respected figure inside and outside the university. Miguel Burdeos was an exceptional advisor, teacher, and an example of human values for all.'
'From the UPV, we express our deepest condolences to his family, the SPB team, the company to which he dedicated his professional life and all those affected by this loss. We join the message of The Social Council, who have recalled on social networks the invaluable impact Miguel left on our institution and community. We are together with his family and loved ones at this time of deep sorrow'.
