UPV volunteers act

The Universitat Politècnica de València channels requests for help to volunteers from the different organisations in the affected areas

Students from the Universitat Politècnica de València volunteer team, coordinated by the Social Action Area, are already helping to clean up the areas most affected by the DANA while transporting basic material needs.

To be more efficient, the UPV is responding to requests from various organisations.

At present, mud shovels are most needed to remove the mud.

What is needed now?

- FOR THE AFFECTED AREAS:

- Cleaning materials: mops, mop sticks, buckets, brooms, dustpans, rubbish bags, rags, bleach, cloths, scourers, dishwashers, etc.

- Personal protective equipment: wellington boots, hiking boots, snow boots, goggles, gardening gloves (not latex), etc.

- Work material: shovels, buckets, etc.

- FOR THE NURSERY SCHOOLS SET UP BY THE ESCOLA D'ESTIU IN AFFECTED AREAS:

- School material

- Material for children's handicrafts

- Board games (in good condition)

- NO TOYS OR STUFFED ANIMALS

- FOOD:

- Non-perishable food.

- NO FRESH OR PERISHABLE PRODUCTS

When to donate?

At the Vera campus, the opening hours have been extended:

- Thursday 7 November, from 9.00 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.

- Friday 8 November, from 9:00 to 20: 30 h

- Saturday 9 November, from 9:00 to 14:00 h

Financial donations for food

To collect financial donations for food, the UPV offers the university community the Solidarity Totem, which allows you to donate food digitally and dignify the aid through wallet cards. It is located in the Student Recreation Centre on the Vera campus.

UPV Patronage Campaign

The Universitat Politècnica de València is also launching a campaign to help those affected by the hurricane through its Patronage platform.
The money raised will go towards the purchase of materials for the reconstruction of the affected areas.
