Suppose you ever wondered what UPV students spend their free time doing. In that case, we have the answer: building a rocket that will fly 10 kilometres above the ground, launching the first Valencian space mission, creating extendable paediatric prostheses that grow with the child, and they are also committed to sustainability with vehicles that are powered by sunlight or competing in Europe with Formula 1 cars, high-capacity motorbikes or sustainable houses.

They also get together to enjoy the world of comics, play role-playing games, play computer chess, or improve their computer skills. These are just some areas where the teams of UPV Design Factory, the launching programme of the Universitat Politècnica de València that brings together students from different disciplines to carry out a project they are passionate about, move forward.

2300 students in 59 teams

This year, 2300 students are part of the 59 teams spread across the three campuses of the UPV, 42 of which participated in the IV UPV Design Factory Fair held in the Agora and which served to present their projects to the university community.

The fair, which was well attended throughout the day, served as a showcase for the projects in which the teams are immersed, some of which have received international awards and attracted the interest of companies in UPV talent.

The Rector of the UPV, Prof. Dr José E. Capilla, stressed that this fair "demonstrates the enormous vitality of the university" and that it allows students "to acquire cross-curricular skills that are very necessary to develop their profession and their future life project, which are more difficult to acquire in the classroom".
