The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), recognized as the best university in Spain

[ 12/06/2024 ]

The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) is the best university in Spain. This is certified by the twelfth edition of the U-Ranking, which classifies the national university system according to the results of the institutions' teaching, research and innovation activities.

The latest edition of the ranking, published by the BBVA Foundation and the Valencian Institute for Economic Research (IVIE), places the UPV in first place in the general classification, tied with the Carlos III University of Madrid, and as the only alternative together with the University of Valencia (10th), to the Madrid-Barcelona axis, present in the national top 10.

A national reference at the teaching level in a ranking that analyses nearly 96% of the Spanish university system.

Likewise, the U-Ranking shows the institution, currently led by Prof. José E. Capilla, as number 1 nationally in teaching and top 8 in the absolute totality of the results analysed, both overall and in terms of volume for teaching, research, and innovation.

This edition of the U-Ranking compares more than 3,600 official degrees from 70 Spanish universities, 48 public and 22 private, covering around 96% of the Spanish university system.

The UPV, internationally recognised by all the top rankings.

The U-Ranking classification confirms the high valuation line of the UPV, an institution recognised nationally and by all the top international rankings.

Not in vain, the latest edition of the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU, popularly known as the Shanghai Ranking) rated the UPV as the best technological university in Spain and, for the 19th consecutive year, included it among the 500 best universities in the world.

Besides, the latest QS World University Rankings edition, published earlier this month, included the UPV in the top 500 universities worldwide for the 13th consecutive year and the best university in the Valencian Community.

Furthermore, Times Higher Education (THE), in its sixth edition of THE Impact Rankings, has just recognized the UPV as one of the 200 universities with the most significant social and economic impact in the world, as well as the best in Spain -equal with 5 other academic institutions in the country-, the most outstanding of the national technological universities and the number 1 in the Valencian Community in this field.
