An immersive experience

If you have ever studied in the UPV Central Library, you will know that the atmosphere created is more than conducive to concentrating and performing at your best during study hours. That atmosphere is what is known as ASMR, an audio experience that allows you to immerse yourself without leaving home in a particular environment.

The term ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) is an acronym that refers to a tingling sensation in the skin - a slight shivering feeling that starts at the scalp and goes down the spine - associated with listening to sound.

In the library, taking a test or walking around campus

To help you study and prepare for final exams or the PAU, we have created a series of ASMR videos so you can experience the university atmosphere at UPV. You can imagine what it's like to study in the library without leaving home thanks to the 'La Terra' Study Room Soundscape.

If you are preparing for the PAU and want to know what it feels like when you enter the classroom, you can listen to an ASMR recorded during last year's PAU where you can listen to the sounds of the exam: breathing, chair movements, pen on paper... One hour and 48 minutes of real sound.

If you prefer to walk around the Vera Campus without leaving home, we suggest a 50-minute walk around the UPV facilities to experience the sensation of research in the UPV facilities.

Studying with Lucía

In addition to these ASMR proposals, the UPV Communication Department launched the live programme 'Estudia con Lucía' (Study with Lucía) on Twitch in May this year.

Lucía Quesada is in the third year of the Bachelor's Degree in Digital Technology and Multimedia taught at the School of Telecommunications Engineering. Two years ago, having just landed at the Universitat Politècnica de València, she started broadcasting live on her Twitch channel. There, she live-streamed her study sessions to encourage others to follow her example. Applying the Pomodoro method, Lucía schedules 50-minute study sessions followed by 5 or 10-minute breaks.

Now, Lucía is jumping on the UPV Twitch channel and inviting the entire student community to join her plan. Throughout the month of May, Quesada will be broadcasting live every day from 9 am to 12 pm, Monday to Friday. If you are studying for your final exams or preparing for the University Entrance Exams, join the channel and focus your efforts at the same time as Lucía.
