The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) is the best university in Spain for a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and the second-best national option for studying Biotechnology, Food Science and Technology and Agricultural Engineering and Environment, according to El Mundo.
In addition, UPV is the third-best university for studying Architecture, Telecommunications Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Computer Engineering.
Overall, the UPV is the main alternative to the national dominance of the Madrid-Barcelona axis. It is not for nothing that the institution, currently directed by Prof. José E. Capilla, is the fifth university with the most significant presence in the ranking, only behind the four belonging to the duo above, and is also the leading technological in Spain in this field: 13 presences, with the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (11) and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (9) completing the podium.
Specifically, in this latest edition of the 50 degrees ranking - based on 27 criteria, including more than 2,000 anonymous surveys of academic staff, student demand, physical and human resources, curricula, teaching results, context, international rankings and reports from both ANECA and the universities themselves - the UPV appears in a total of 13 degrees (only the 5 best universities to study each of them are included), adding to the 11 podiums the fourth national position in both Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
At the regional level, the leadership of the UPV is undisputed. Not in vain, the 13 presences of the UPV in the ranking exceed the sum of all the other Valencian universities (11): University of Valencia (5), University of Alicante (4), Miguel Hernández University (1) and Jaume I University (1).
