Today, the Universitat Politècnica de València adds a new spin-off to its innovative ecosystem with Ciber Real-Time Systems (CiberTRS), specialised in cybersecurity and cyberintelligence.
The UPV participates in the company by transferring the HyBINT (Hybrid Intelligence) software developed by researchers from the Distributed Real-Time Systems and Applications Group (SATRD). This programme allows the integration of different sources of cyberintelligence to create specific applications for monitoring and intrusion detection using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, in particular Machine Learning. It thus facilitates the detection and response to intrusions and cyber-attacks.
"For us, this company is a new challenge to bring to the business world research developments so far applied in large projects for the protection of critical infrastructures," says Manuel Esteve, one of the company's partners and a researcher at the UPV's Distributed Real-Time Systems and Applications Group (SATRD).
The CiberTRS team is completed by Israel Pérez Llopis, a researcher at the UPV, and Miguel Ángel Montalbo Cortinas, a lawyer specialising in data protection.
The Universitat Politècnica de València group promoting CiberTRS has already developed several projects with the Joint Cyberspace Command and the European Defence Agency (EDA). "Now, with the incorporation of the company, we are taking another step forward, with a fundamental objective: to offer both large companies and SMEs the ability to protect their data using the most advanced artificial intelligence techniques," adds Miguel Ángel Montalbo.
The agreement was signed by the Rector of the Universitat Politècnica de València, José E. Capilla, together with the promoting partners. With CiberTRS, there are 30 spin-offs that the Universitat Politècnica de València currently has, 20 of them participated.
