Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a key tool for digital transformation, changing the way we learn, teach, research, and manage information. Its ability to automate processes, develop new skills, and process large volumes of data opens new opportunities… but it also presents significant technological, ethical, and privacy challenges.
At the UPV, we are driving this progress forward. We are currently developing, in a testing phase, PoliGPT, our own artificial intelligence system, which is being tested and runs entirely on UPV infrastructure to ensure privacy. In addition to acting as a chatbot, PoliGPT is already the technological foundation for several internal services.
To support the university community in using AI responsibly, safely, and in alignment with regulations, we have created the UPV AI Usage Guide, where you will find everything you need to understand how to use artificial intelligence within the UPV: the internal solutions available, when to use each one, their limitations, best practices, recommendations, and warnings—especially when handling personal data or sensitive information.

The impact of artificial intelligence on the UPV is significant, improving both the efficiency administrative and teaching quality.
We implement AI-based solutions, we look for optimize processes. The goal is to offer a personalized educational experience and promote a more interactive and dynamic learning environment for the student body.
In addition, we encourage training in the community about best practices in the use of AI.
Uses and success stories
PoliGPT, UPV’s own artificial intelligence system, powers several services across the university:
- it resolves and classifies generic Gregal incidents to speed up user support.
- it generates summaries, FAQs, timelines, and study plans in VideoApuntes.
- it creates multiple‑choice questions to support teaching assessment based on VideoApuntes content.
- it enhances the Media UPV search engine with semantic similarity search.
- through its API, it enables the integration of AI into UPV’s internal applications and developments.
