Radioactive Installations
The latest authorized modification of the IRA-UPV is dated July 13, 2022 and includes the following units:
- DIQN Department of Chemical and Nuclear Engineering of the ETS Ingenieros Industriales, located in building 5I, has two practice laboratories and the so-called “storage room for encapsulated radioactive sources”, which is located in the basement of the building.
- DIMM The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering of the ETS Industrial Engineers, a radiography bunker located in the basement of building 5I.
- LRL Liquid Isotope Laboratory of the Radiation Service, located on the first floor of building 5I, consists of an anteroom leading to the other laboratory areas: waste storage, emergency shower area and isotope handling area.
- DIT (Department of Transport Infrastructure Engineering of the ETS de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos), a bunker located in building 1, block 4 A-2, with a storage capacity of two soil density and moisture measurement equipment.
- IBMCP Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology of Plants (Mixed Center UPV and CSIC) located in the building of the Polytechnic City of Innovation (CPI), consists of the following facilities: the main radioactive laboratory located on the ground floor, 11 ordinary laboratories located on different floors of the building where work with radioactive material will be carried out in specific areas and 7 laboratories for common use, where in specific circumstances the handling of radioactive material will be authorized.
- DCRBC Department of Conservation and Restoration of Goods of the Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos, the X-ray laboratory located on the first floor of the building.
- DFA : Department of Applied Physics of the School of Design Engineering: the semiconductor laboratory and the X-ray diffraction room.
- ESA ESA-VSC European Laboratory for the measurement of high power microwave effects, located at the Institute for Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications, building 8G, consists of three laboratories (iTEAM, VSC-1, VSC-2),
- CTN University Institute of Nanophotonic Technology: Room ISO 4 and Room ISO 4/5 located in building 8F.
- I3M At the Institute of Instrumentation for Molecular Imaging, the X-ray equipment will be stored in an outbuilding of the Institute and will be used in the X-ray bunker located in the basement of building 5I.
- ISIRYM The University Institute of Industrial Safety, Radiophysics and Environment, testing room (RX) located in the semi-basement floor of building 8E and the ISIRYM laboratory in building 3R.
